How To Do Your Homework Right After School: Tips For Lazy Students

As a student, you will agree with me that there are times you would tell yourself that you would tackle your homework the moment you got home so you would have time for other activities the rest of that day. Most times, you fail on that decision because the moment you walk into your home there are lots of distractions already waiting. From the television to the computer, video games and lots of other recreational activities, you ended up leaving your assignment until the last minute. Would it surprise you then if your scores turn out to be very low? If this is what you pass through, then this article is for you.

Listed here are a few tips that will help you to do your homework right after school. They are:

  • Act fast: This is the key to ensuring that you keep true to your words. As soon as you step inside your home, the first thing to do is to take a shower and rest for at least 20 minutes. You can use that period to grab a quick lunch if you are hungry. Then it’s straight to your assignment. To better help yourself, make a timetable and stick to it. If the timetable says 2.00pm for your assignment, make sure nothing takes up that time.

  • Keep your work station organized: What this means is that everything you will need to do your homework should be kept handy so that you don’t have to stand up from your work station. This might infuriate you or worst still, bring distractions like walking into the living room when they are showing your favourite seasonal film. Your rulers, pencils, pens, erasers, assignment books and calculators should all be on your desk before you start writing.

  • Be determined: Taking the decision to spend those exciting after-school-hours doing your homework is a big sacrifice, especially for teens. However, in order to successfully complete that assignment, determination should be the watchword. Without it, you might just succumb to the sound of interesting chatter going on in the living room where your siblings are having a good time playing games or watching movies.

  • Take short breaks: This is very essential if you have a heap of assignments to do. Don’t try to tackle all the problems at a go because you will only end up confused. If the workload will take hours to do, stretch yourself for ten minutes every one hour. You can stroll down the walkway or catch a view of the back garden, whatever helps. You can also use that time to fetch a glass of cold water or juice to sip as you do your homework<.
