How To Make Homework Fun: Recommendations From Experts

That homework won't write itself you know! So why aren't you getting on with it? Ah, I see, sometimes it is boring, right? What you need is a different approach. Has nobody told you? Homework can be fun! Experts agree that the more you enjoy studying, the more receptive to learning and the more focused you'll be- and the experts can't be wrong! They're experts, after all!

  • The first rule of Homework Club is you don't talk about Homework Club.
  • Get involved with your friends and create a study group specific to you. Come up with funny games to help you learn. Sometimes it's just as easy as sharing your study worries with your friends.

  • Music can calm your mind.
  • Working by yourself can be just as beneficial, so if you find it hard to make studying entertaining, why not put some music on while you're learning? Playing some calm and enjoyable music will certainly make you more receptive to the tasks at hand. Just make sure not to play music with lyrics, as the last thing you want is to get distracted from your work!

  • Have fun online.
  • What are you complaining about? Studying out of hours has never been such fun! Don't believe me? Well, just think how lucky you are not to live in recent history when the Internet wasn't available, and think just how much fun using online resources can be! No longer do you have to stay in a quiet library corner with a pile of books either side of you. Now you can research online, in all the many fun ways available. You can find your answers by watching videos, listening to audio files and engaging with cartoons and silly stuff on educational websites.

  • Your brain is having fun!
  • Remember that your brain wants to learn, even if you don't feel like it! Your brain is designed to learn, think, remember and apply, so it enjoys nothing more than mulling over new information. So sometimes it's just as simple as saying to yourself, “Hey I enjoy learning new stuff!” The more you have that attitude and feed your brain, the more you'll find studying to be effortless.

  • Take a break.
  • If you're stuck staring at a blur of words, feeling like nothing's going in, when there's a deadline tomorrow: take a break! Walk away for a moment, take some deep breaths, find a momentary distraction and rebuild your mental stamina before carrying on. You'll be amazed at just how much energy you can gain after having a snack or resting or exercising; allowing you to be sharp and focused to tackle that paper you need to write!
